“I love learning about History especially when visitors come in and we get to see lots of interesting artefacts”
Year 4 pupil.
At St. Aidan’s our vision is to deliver a high-quality history curriculum that enables children to make sense of their world with the intent to allow them to learn and grow together, becoming part of history. Our history curriculum will equip children with knowledge about the history of Britain and how it has been influenced by the wider world. Our history curriculum is implemented through high quality teaching, discussions and fieldwork experiences that link to the lives of the pupils in our school. The impact of the history curriculum is that our pupils become passionate historians who develop a well-rounded historical knowledge and understanding of the past, both in Britain and across the world.
If a pupil has difficulty with History; adaptations, adjustments and interventions can support knowledge and understanding. Any interventions that are necessary will be discussed with parents/carers and Individual targets sheets competed and reviewed if necessary.
