Year 1 have started to think about how we can effectively communicate online. We had some interesting discussions on age restrictions on online platforms too.
Knowsley’s Road Safety Team visited Year 6 today for a road safety lesson.  The children went out and used their observations to see how drivers were easily distracted.  They also used the speed guns to check the speed of passing vehicles.
Year 4 explored the importance of looking after our teeth and did the blue tablet experiment to check where we need to brush out teeth better.
As part of a PSHE lesson on transition to Secondary school, Year 6 have been discussing the things that they are worried or nervous about – as well as the things that they are looking forward to.
As part of our health and well-being topic, we ate plaque revealing tablets to see how well we have been looking after our teeth and what we need to do to look after them even better.
Joy from St John’s Ambulance came into school to teach the children about first aid.
They learned the steps to follow if someone collapses, how to stay safe, call for help and put someone into the recovery position. As well as, how to recognise and dress a head injury or a small wound. Our children absolutely loved every moment and learnt lots essential life skills too.
Year 2 created a community web. They had to say something nice about somebody in the class who could then come and collect a ball of wool.
