As part of our D&T topic on Seasonality, year 6 tasted various cooked and uncooked vegetables.
In DT, Year 4 looked at different kite designs. They designed, constructed and tested their designs. They evaluated their kites and how they could make improvements next time. They had lots of fun flying their kites.
They used their science knowledge about electrical circuits from last term to make a complete circuit using LED bulbs, batteries and wires. Take a look at our fantastic designs!
Year 4 tried many ways to build the strongest bridge.
Y2 made a really simple slaw out of red cabbage and apple. We loved it and have said we are going to make it at home.
Y2 trying grapes, blueberries, blackberries, pineapple and honeydew melon. We then learnt a simple pancake recipe to stuff our fruit in.
Year 5 children explored the use of purses and pouches by Tudor people. They investigated designs and created their own versions using skills in stitching, cutting and manipulating fabrics and textiles.
Year 5 children had the opportunity to visit St Edward Arrowsmith and experience DT resources and teaching first hand. They had the chance to work with secondary teachers on weaving and textiles skills. They loved the day and made some excellent products!
